Progressing Toward Adolescents’ Ovulatory-Menstrual Health Literacy: A Systematic Literature Review of School-Based Interventions

This study was designed to evaluate the extent which school-based ovulatory-menstrual (OM) health interventions facilitate Health Outcome Model’s domains of literacy. Electronic databases and gray literature sources were searched from 1980 2019. Findings 16 studies OM (n = >8800 adolescents aged 13–16 years) collated. The results indicate that education addresses literacy various degrees; critical skills are least often addressed. Future programs would benefit positive teaching about cycle as a monitor engaging parents healthcare providers.
